The Farmhouse is a traditional style pillared, 2 story building of which the whole top floor is available to rent (the bottom floor is family staff accommodation). It is 2 bedroomed of which the master bedroom is air conditioned, the second smaller bedroom has a fan. There is a kitchen cum living room area with a large refrigerator. There is a wood floor deck outside the living room which looks over the Baha Ba’r vegetable garden and is high enough to catch the ocean breeze (if there is one!). The accommodation has a basic bathroom with shower and toilet situated between the bedrooms. The walls are made of traditional amakan and the floors are old mahogany timber.
The Farmhouse overlooks the small Baha Bar vegetable farm and is set in a semi-rural farming area away from the road with footpath access. It is located away from road traffic noise but be aware that on Friday nights until 12 midnight there are loud live outdoor bands playing at the guesthouse 80m away which could be disturbing. This property is best suited to long term rentals of a week or more and you would really get the feeling of ‘living among the locals’ at this location – because you would be!!
The Farmhouse is located 100m behind the Fazenda General Store in Maite village, 1km south of San Juan town.
